I am not a brand girl. I don’t care about the latest Coach or Michael Kors. Yes, give me two options, and I tend to pick the most expensive, but also have a hella lot of Target and H&M in my wardrobe. And I honestly don’t remember the last time I bought a pair of shoes over $50.
But something told me to follow my “Gibbs” gut.
There were snow boots on sale at 6pm.com in November, and I needed a tall boot, something that was tie up for my weirdly sized calves, and maybe a little fur just for flair…and even though I thought my Target faux boots would suit me just fine (after all, winter was going to be mild this year, right?) – I bought the most expensive pair of boots I’ve ever owned…something called Sorel Cate of Alexandria…
And boy, have they paid for themselves in no time.
These boots have been a lifesaver…a “get the snow off my tires kicker”, 100% waterproof, a “snow up to my knee” “windchill factor of GEEZUS IT’S FREEZING” god-send. A “prevent me from sliding”, “cozy as slippers” and “adjustable for weird calves” miracle. A commuter’s dream boot, I’ve adapted an “extreme winter? I got this” attitude…no snow pile is too tall for these puppies. And while my eyelashes were freezing (btw, what IS that?!?!), my toes were nice and snug and warm. These boots are so functional and deliver on what they promise (just be sure to order a 1/2 size up, ladies!! more room for wool socks 🙂
But not only that, but they have paid for themselves in compliments! A random Target shopper, a stranger on a dog walk, a neighbor, countless people at work, a best friend, an aunt, the guy at Jewel….EVERY BODY wants these boots! And they go great dressed up with a pair of leggings or dressed down with jeans, and while I have three other snow boots to choose from, these are the boots I’ve been wearing every day for the last two weeks!
I am in no way affiliated with the company and am not getting paid to write this. This is just a consumer with no expectation except those of the customer reviews. And the happy knowledge that my money was finally well spent!
And those target boots? Well, those didn’t last the first snowfall 🙂
A select photo gallery of the last two weeks…this just means summer’s gonna rock…right?!
