A Portrait of the ever changing media landscape
The ever changing media landscape has reared its ugly head once again. The Chicago Sun-Times laid off its ENTIRE photography dept. Those photos that can capture a feeling…tell the story in an instant…leave us breathless and speechless without so much as a caption or byline….gone. Wiped out in a single room meeting on a rainy Chicago morn.
A couple of photos on an iPhone does not a photographer make. There is a real skill, a real art to capturing a photograph, and now we as a society will have to endure the mass market blandness of the reporters and their shaky unskilled iPhone photos, feeding into the mediocrity machine that is this ever changing media landscape of ours. What fun.
As a friend once told me, have faith in chaos, for change is near. Indeed.
(Try capturing this on an iPhone)…
