Pacey decided that he’d rather chase tennis balls in the sky than be an old man and abandoned this life for greener pastures at 4am on January 26, 2013. He was 14.5 years old. So in dog years, he was damn old. Survivor of Stefi’s Dawson’s Creek obsession & high school angst-ridden years. Veteran of Jenny’s post-collegiate moving vans. Loyal companion through numerous family illnesses. After spending a short time in his youth posing as a 40lb. Sheltie/Terrier, the Lab/Golden/German Shepard parlayed into 90lbs. of pure shedding canine. He spent many a days waiting patiently to rip the mailman’s head off by his ear-piercing bark, and enjoyed testing unsuspecting guests’ patience with his insistent, never-ending game of tennis ball fetch. In his later years, he could be seen lounging around the screened-in porch while keeping his fellow brothers (Tassi and Ollie) in line. He is survived by his devoted owners, Marty & Rosie Weaver; caretakers Stefi Weaver & Jenny Barbieri; brothers Tassi, Ollie, Reilly, Charlie & Tig, and many others who have willingly played fetch with the never ending tennis ball champion.
You will be missed old friend, but I am glad that you are back to chasing tennis balls.
