Life Observations: Thanksgiving ’09

contemplations and life observations, silly life observations / Thursday, November 26th, 2009

Lots of turkey = lots of fun.
Memories included:

Mike’s corn dip appetizer

Being afraid the turkey was going to be a no-show

Big ass turkey that was oh-so-good (thank goodness Grandpa Cruz’s culinary skills were passed down to one person!)

Pacey barking for about 4 hours straight (not to self: feed him turkey as tranquilizer)

Fabric pens on Kaitlin’s dress (note to self: washable activities!)

Color-your-own tattoos (fun in theory…messy in reality)

“Mashed potatoes are so creamy” moments (aka the extra place setting)

burnt grandpa rolls & Paula’s ” bottom amputation”

the (failed) Chocolate Taste-off experiment (note to self…no one usually wants dessert at Thanksgiving unless it’s pumpkin pie)

Crazy plans of Black Friday shopping by two crazy cousins (and no, I didn’t touch your ads!)

the Keurig intervention

Missing grandma but knowing she was there

On-going performances of cousins in a bay window (which made me appreciate all my cousins had to sit through when I was a child…)

Appreciation of family togetherness followed by appreciation of dishwashers and comfortable couches

Buttering the tradition....

Kaitlin's a pro at buttering those rolls!

I said smile and this is what I got!

Doggies want turkey!

Tradition being passed down

The Entertainment for the evening

Cousin cuteness
