HEROES MONDAYS, NBC, 8pm
Oh, Heroes, how I love thee. And now they go and add my favorite villian actor, David Anders, and all is well in genetic mutation land. Great writing is back again, along with cliffhangers galore, a lot of openended questions that have yet to be answered, why that little girl not only had really bad nightmares but can play a very pissed off child, and they finally gave Peter Patrelli a decent haircut (not to meantion a trip to the gym!). So we start with Mohinder (very cute Mohinder) trying to spread his findings all over the world to no one, except a guy who plays “THAT GUY” in every freaking movie I have seen…still dont know his name, but I digress. Fast forward to Greg Grumberg’s characer who finally gets a dectective badge, even though it is at the cost of his divorce and crazy mind. Hiro goes to 1600 Japan just in time to discover his hero Kensai, is actually a British con man, played brilliantly (let’s face it, he can do anything with an English accent and still be hot) by David Anders. Hiro alters “his heroes” course by transporting him away from a fight…As long as David Anders stays in the frame, I am staying tuned…although he did punch out Hiro, which was totally uncalled for, but the banter back and forth between these two characters will keep the storyline coming. Poor Ando, has to wait in present day with Hiro’s father who, by the way, SPOIL ALERT…doesnt last very long…by an masked man who looks like Sylar but I have a feeling is not. Wow, there are a lot of character arcs in this story, and I havent even hit upon Clare (Save the Cheerleader, Save the World…hello Trival Pursuit card….) and how she needs to now live a “normal” existance in California…yeah, like that’s possible. She befriends a loner dude (again, cute but not overly hot) who, oh my gosh, has a levitating problem. Oh, what fun. And new characters, subtitled in Spanish (it’s a multicultural script! Who says educational TV is dead!) Alanjandro and Maya…Maya has a death wish though…and turns people’s eyes into black goo. Yummy. It was the first episode, so I wasnt expecting much, but it is fun to know that Heroes will keep us all guessing up until the very end, and I, for one, am totally looking forward to it!
Hiro. Music to my ears.
